DOSBA is a representation of Open Source focussed IT-Companies based in The Netherlands. The goal of DOSBA is to bring together Open Source companies and to be a primary point of contact for these collaborating companies, the government and the public sector.
On january 16th at 15:00 we will kick-off this (new) alliance at AT-Computing in Nieuwegein.
Boris van Hoytema, Quartermaster of the Open Source Program Office within the Ministry of the Interior, stated he needs “thé telephone number of Open Source”. He will elaborate at the kick-off.
In addition, Sebastian Raible, Political Consultant and representative of APELL will explain which Open Source interests and initiatives are relevant in the European Union. He will also argue that we as an Open Source industry should have influence in the development of new legislation, for example APELL has contributed to the Cyber-Resilience Act. Our goal is that the DOSBA will have such influence within the Netherlands.
Finally, Joost Helberg, current Board Member of VOSN will pass the Open Source baton. Vereniging Open Source Nederland, founded in 1999, had similar goals as the DOSBA.
The NLUUG are passing the baton as representative within APELL to the DOSBA. Among others, in Germany, Finland, France, such organizations exist. There is also a trade association at European level: APELL. If you are interested in becoming a member: these details will be announced during this meeting.
