Peter has a passion for open source software because it gives users independence from vendors, offers freedom of choice, and encourages knowledge sharing. Since 2005, he has been helping organizations take control of their online presence through his company db8 Website Support – with smart, open source solutions that work for the user, not the other way around.
As a Joomla specialist and Linux enthusiast, he combines deep technical knowledge with strategic insight. Whether it's about an accessible website, a high-converting landing page, or custom PHP components: Peter always provides practical advice and sustainable solutions. No bells and whistles, just results.
Peter is an active volunteer in the Joomla community. Since 2006, he has been serving as a global moderator on the international Joomla forum. He was the release manager for Joomla 5.2 and involved in launching that version. Most recently, he started as treasurer of the Joomla Netherlands Foundation.
Outside of work, he is committed to building connections in the open source and entrepreneurial world. Since 2009, he has been organizing a monthly networking event for freelancers and entrepreneurs: Open Coffee Nijmegen. In 2012, he founded the Linux User Group Nijmegen and continues to organize monthly meetups. Since 2017, he has also been coordinating the Joomla User Group Arnhem-Nijmegen, where knowledge sharing is the main focus. He also regularly speaks at Joomla and Linux events – always with a practical approach.
